Roy Jacobsen er en av åtte forfattere på “shortlist” for “The 2009 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award”. Dette er en av de aller mest anerkjente internasjonale litteraturprisene – den samme prisen som Per Petterson vant i 2007 med Ut og stjæle hester (Out Stealing Horses). Bøkene på den korte listen ble valgt ut blant 146 bøker som var nominert for prisen. Roy Jacobsen er nominert for boken The Burnt-Out Town of Miracles (Hoggerne).
Eight titles are shortlisted for the prize. The shortlisted titles and authors are:

Man Gone Down by Micheal Thomas (American) Grove / AtlanticThe five member judging panel, chaired by Hon. Eugene R. Sullivan, will select one winner from the short list which will be announced by The Patron of the Award, The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne, on Thursday June 11th 2009.
