What a load of bull. People who live in the area are losing their livelyhood, animals getting poisoined and so on. Their land is now worthless. Yes I have connections to tha area and know many people. They wish the volcano would just disappear..And you dare to say this because you cant get from one place to another…..bastard.

Apart from that – I did not say that I am unable to understand that this is bad for Iceland or Icelandic peasants. I actually do. And I even feel sorry for Iceland.
But the volcano problem has been bad for others as well. The airlines and the rest of the world has probably lost more money on this than Iceland. And the loss of income from 5 million people stranded on airports around the world is not trivial either. So to try to say that one should not discuss anything but the consequences for Iceland is narrow-minded.
“And you dare to say this because you cant get from one place to another – bastard” is not a very mature response either.
Apart from that, when I wrote that Iceland was unable to control its banks and volcanoes, I actually thought that was something 99 of 100 people would recognize as a joke! I mean – most people do know that volcanoes can’t be controlled by people, not even on Iceland.
That you two did not understand that, probably says more about you than me!
